DAPHNE, AL – The Shawn Esfahani Foundation continues its mission to fund organizations helping the tri-county (Escambia, Baldwin & Mobile) area by donating a total of $1,000,000 to four local charities – Prodisee Pantry, The Lighthouse, Penelope House, and the Baldwin Humane Society. These organizations will receive checks in a presentation at Eastern Shore Toyota scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, at 1:45pm. Founder Shawn Esfahani – also owner of the Esfahani Automotive Group, including Eastern Shore Toyota, Eastern Shore Hyundai, Headquarter Nissan and Genesis of Eastern Shore – will personally hand out the checks during the presentation.
Prodisee Pantry will receive $100,000, The Lighthouse $300,000, Penelope House $300,000 and the Baldwin Humane Society $300,000. This will bring the total amount of money donated by the Shawn Esfahani Foundation to local charities in the tri-county area to a total of $4.3 million since November 2023. The foundation’s ultimate goal is to commit $10 million in donations, or more, in the years to come.
Founder Shawn Esfahani is making these donations in honor of Southeast Toyota founder Mr. Jim Moran, whom he credits as an unshakable force in his life.
“To Mr. Moran, owning an automotive dealership was about more than just selling cars,” Esfahani said. “It was about building trust, serving families, and creating opportunities – exactly what we strive to do here at Eastern Shore Toyota. Without Mr. Moran’s influence in my life, the Esfahani Automotive Group would not exist.”
Mr. Moran started his automotive dealership legacy in Chicago, and by the late 1950s, he had built the largest Ford dealership in the world with Courtesy Ford. In 1961, he became the only automotive dealer ever featured on the cover of Time magazine. Seven years later, in 1968, he established Southeast Toyota – a business move that transformed the automotive landscape of the southeast United States forever. Esfahani credits Mr. Moran’s commitment to serving people as the reason for his success.
“Mr. Moran’s story is about more than cars. It’s about people – about believing in them, uplifting them, and leaving behind a foundation of generosity that continues to make a difference today,” Esfahani said. “On behalf of Eastern Shore Toyota and the Shawn Esfahani Foundation, we’re saying ‘Thank you’ and honoring Mr. Moran’s legacy. May his legacy continue to remind us that ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’”
